Competition: Swatantrata Sangram Ke Nayak

Every Independence Day, we hear the same five or six names. But the freedom struggle was carried by thousands whose stories rarely make it past a single line in a textbook - and every one of us has a freedom fighter who, for some personal reason, stayed with us longer than the rest.

Swatantrata Sangram Ke Nayak - the second exhibition by Project Bhaskar invites you to tell us about yours. Draw them. Quote them. Write about them. Ten entries will be selected for display alongside our Independence Day exhibition.

Why we are doing this

History textbooks compress freedom fighters into dates and one-line achievements. But somewhere between a school lesson, a grandparent's story, or a documentary watched at the right age, one name usually breaks through and becomes personal. That's the story we want.

This isn't a test of historical knowledge. It's a record of who India's freedom struggle actually lives in, person by person, told in your own words or your own hand.

Three ways to participate

Track 1 - Poster: An original artwork or illustration of your freedom fighter, any medium - pencil, paint, collage, digital.

Track 2 - Quote: A quote by or about your freedom fighter, designed or hand-lettered, with 2–3 lines on why it stayed with you.

Track 3 - Write-up: 150–300 words on why this person has had an impact on you. Personal, not encyclopaedic - we want your reason, not their Wikipedia page.

Pick one track. All three are eligible for the final selection.

Who can enter

• Junior: up to Class 12

• Open: 18 and above

Open to everyone - students, families, working professionals, anyone in Ajmer and beyond.

How to submit

In person: Bring your poster, quote card, or written entry to the Bhaskar office by 12th August.

Online: Post your entry on Instagram with #Project Bhaskar, or submit digitally through the participation form by 12th August.

What happens to selected entries

10 entries - across both categories and all three tracks - will be printed and displayed alongside our exhibition on the same theme, running through August. Selected participants will be credited by name and, where applicable, age category.
